- Gooey Hearts Day is a play on Valentine's Day which occurs annually on February 14 in the United States.
- The Love Bug is actually a robotic version of Cupid who bears a resemblance to Percy Polie. This is actually an angel who's imitating exactly what Cupid, the Roman god of love does in this episode which is shooting plungers at people who fall in love with each other instead of arrows with heart shaped points in front of them.
